Maureen FitzSimons's achievements as a child performer in America (which we call Maureen O'Hara today) would have definitely put her into the child-prodigy class. This was a natural trait for a child born in Ireland, surrounded by talented parents as well as a loving and supportive family. Maureen was welcomed into this caring haven on the 17th of August 1920, at Ranelagh (a suburb within Dublin), Ireland. Marguerita FitzSimons' mom, Lilburn, was an contralto. Charles FitzSimons ran a Dublin company, and also held shares of the Irish Shamrock Rovers soccer club. Maureen FitzSimons is the 2nd daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed the wonderful family. Maureen was a star athlete and loved rough games. She combined this interest with an equally natural aptitude of performing. It was evident by her getting almost every Feis award for drama and theatrical performing her country offered. At age 14she was admitted to the Abbey Theater, where her dream was to pursue the art of opera and classical theatre.
